MLB poem, by Liam Holt

My entire life I wanted to play in the MLB
I played college and was going to play for the New York Mets.
But in the college world Series I tore my ACL.
So I can’t play they, Said I am not going to play
This season for the Mets. I have to rehab
If I want any chance I had to heal and regain
My strength for the next season.
I knew it would take a while so I could not walk.
I learned how to play guitar.
I created songs about playing and it really took my mind off the whole ideal.
I played to my family and after a year I was healed.
I had a whole book of my songs so I went
To a song publisher and got them published.
After a while everyone loved my songs.
So after my ACL healed I sucked at baseball.
So I ditched it and went on a tour.
And I got my dream of being a pro.
After a while I went on world tour then
The Mets had me sing the national anthem on opening day.
So I overcame the worst thing in my life.
